Campus Tours

Prospective Undergraduate Student Visits

Prospective students and their guests are invited to experience a campus visit, complete with an information session followed by a 100-minute walking tour of campus. These tours are available by appointment only.

Daily Walking Tours

Explore the University of Wisconsin – Madison through a guided walking tour. These 100-minute tours of campus are led by experienced tour guides and highlight campus life, academics and the history of the university. They are offered at 3 p.m., Monday through Friday, and at noon, Saturday and Sunday, throughout the year. (Note: See below for exceptions to this schedule*). Reservations are recommended. Tours leave from the Campus Information Center in the Red Gym, 716 Langdon St. (see map).

Please note the following exceptions to the tour schedule:

  • No tours on home football Saturdays, state holidays and the day after Thanksgiving
  • There is a modified tour schedule during winter break (mid-December through mid-January). If you are planning your visit during this time frame, please check the schedule before confirming your visit plans.

Customized Group Visits

If you are bringing a group to UW-Madison, such as conference participants, an alumni group, prospective or new students, a foreign delegation or a civic group, and you would like help with your visit, our campus group tour coordinator can recommend campus highlights, coordinate the logistics of your visit and provide experienced tour guides.
