Food, catering, and alcohol policy

The policies outlined below are derived from University Facility Use Policies. If you have questions and/or need more information, please consult the comprehensive guidelines online or contact Welcome Center reservations staff.

  1. All users (except 21 N. Park Street occupants) must use a university caterer listed below for events in which any food and/or beverages is made available, regardless of size of group or type of event. Food and/or beverages may not be brought into the rooms. The only time an outside caterer is permitted is if a university caterer is not available (written documentation of this must be provided) and the caterer used must be approved by Risk Management (262-0375).

  2. 21 N. Park Street occupants are permitted some flexibility regarding food and/or beverages as long as all spills/messes on tables are cleaned up, garbage is disposed of properly, and floor has been vacuumed (if necessary). See separate link for guidelines.
  3. Alcohol Policy
    • All users serving alcohol are REQUIRED to go through a University Caterer listed above. The only time an outside caterer is allowed is if a university caterer is not available (written documentation of this must be provided). In addition, an alcohol beverage permit must be secured and approved by the Chancellor’s office if an outside caterer is used.
    • Alcohol may only be served AFTER 4:30pm on weekdays and anytime on weekends.
